Local Activities

There are numerous activities to be enjoyed – from crown bowls, swimming in the local pool, bingo, sailing and fishing, boat trips down the river to Exmouth and the famous Turf Pub in the middle of the estuary.

In the winter enjoy a bowl of hot soup by the fire in the cosy Globe Inn and in summer have a pint sitting by the water watching the boats go by at the Lighter or passage Inn.

Stroll along the Goat walk beyond the Dutch merchants house on the Strand and enjoy watching the wildlife in the bird sanctuary.

Spoil yourself at the Avocet café run by Caroline and Nigel, who never fail to greet you with a smile and friendly service, plus superb food. The homemade lunches, cakes and cream teas are to die for.

Exeter Golf and Country Club is just a few minutes from the park and provides opportunities to play golf, tennis, squash, bridge, or enjoy a swim in the open and covered pools, or just get fit in the gym.
